Two things you only really understand by watching them: how you travel in AXIOM, and the biggest thing you can run into in a contested sector.
The jump
Moving between sectors is a Quantum Jump. The ship wraps itself in a bubble, a countdown runs, and on arrival the bubble opens with a flash. It isn’t a fade to black or a loading screen: you watch the new sector unfold around you.
What’s on the other side
The Guardian Nexus is the Network’s supreme custodian: the toughest structure on the front. It reads on screen as exactly what it is — something that was here long before you and has no intention of moving.
It fires siege missiles from its upper muzzle, with guidance that curves toward the target, and it soaks up more punishment than any single ship can deal in a reasonable amount of time. Bringing it down is worth 150 War Points, split between the factions according to the damage each one contributed.
It is, by design, the objective that makes you check the chat and look for company.
